I’m an attorney and the owner of my solo law firm, handling estate planning and probate matters. When I started using Agile EP, I was looking for a way to be more efficient in my drafting process. I had been using my own intake form, entering the information into Clio, and then programming my own documents for automation. While this worked, every time I made a change—whether it was a law update or just reorganizing provisions—I had to manually adjust article numbers and formatting. It didn’t “move” with my changes, which became time-consuming.
I chose Agile EP because it was specific to Washington, which I appreciated. It was detailed without being overly long, like WealthCounsel, and I loved that I could use a digital intake form where clients’ answers aligned directly with the drafting documents. With Clio, I tried using a custom online intake form, but the formatting made it difficult to review before meetings, so I stuck with my own system. Agile EP, however, made the intake and drafting process seamless.
One of the features I really enjoy is that client intake answers can be saved, modified, and directly used in the drafting process, which saves me a lot of time. I also love that I can trust the software to comply with Washington state law—having that assurance is invaluable.
Beyond the software itself, the customer support is fantastic. I feel very supported, and I’m never directed to a call center or a website that takes days to resolve an issue. Agile EP is straightforward, easy to use, and backed by a responsive team. It has truly streamlined my workflow and made drafting so much faster.

As an estate planning attorney handling probate, trust administration, charitable planning, and marital agreements, efficiency and security are critical in my practice. Before using Agile EP, I relied on FormTool for drafting documents, but making changes was cumbersome, and training any new staff on it would have been a steep learning curve. I needed something more secure, user-friendly, and efficient—especially when it came to integrating an online questionnaire for clients.
I chose Agile EP because it was developed by someone I trust, and I wasn’t comfortable with larger, out-of-state providers. Since becoming a beta tester for the questionnaire, I’ve been impressed with how easy the platform is to use. Now, after meeting with a client, my practice assistant inputs everything into Agile, I review the interview responses, and we generate the documents in MS Word for finalization. The ability to create a complete set of estate planning documents quickly—without having to rely on complex programming—has been a game changer.
The software has significantly improved our efficiency. My practice assistant can now create a set of estate planning documents in about half the time it took using FormTool. I also appreciate the variety of options for both Wills and Trusts, as well as the helpful document summaries.
Overall, Agile EP has streamlined our workflow, made document creation much more efficient, and provided a secure and easy-to-use solution for our practice.

As a solo estate planning attorney with a practice focused primarily on Wills and Trusts, efficiency and accuracy are essential. Before using Agile EP, I relied on another software program, AdaptDocs, that contained frequent grammatical errors and poor merging capabilities. I spent too much time correcting mistakes, which not only slowed down my workflow but also raised concerns about the reliability of the documents it produced. I needed a more efficient and dependable solution.
I chose Agile EP because it was developed by a Washington attorney, and I appreciated the opportunity to support a woman-owned business in my state. I have been very happy with the quality of the product and the level of customer support I have received.
Since incorporating Agile EP into my practice, I have seen a significant improvement in overall efficiency. The digital intake form has streamlined my process by allowing clients to input their own information, reducing errors and eliminating the need for manual data entry by me or my staff. The templates are well-structured, easy for clients to understand, and require fewer modifications.
Ultimately, Agile EP has allowed me to handle more cases in less time while maintaining the accuracy and quality my clients expect. It has been a valuable addition to my practice.
Seattle, WA Practice Assistant
As a practice assistant, I keep our firm’s calendar running smoothly, handle billing, assist with signings, and draft and edit estate planning documents. I’m usually the first person a new client speaks with, so having a system that keeps everything organized and efficient is important.
Before Agile EP, we used FormTool to program our forms. It worked, but making updates was cumbersome, and every time we noticed a small mistake or a law changed, we had to go through everything manually. I came into this job with a lot of editing experience, and I enjoy that kind of work—but it doesn’t come naturally to everyone. And when things get busy (which seems to be happening more and more), keeping up with all the different Wills and Trusts felt like running uphill on a treadmill. We needed something more secure, more efficient, and easier to manage long-term.
It was daunting to step away from the system we had used for years. Agile requires a different workflow than what we were used to, but the more I explored it, the more it seemed like a no-brainer. It offers a kind of streamlining that we never had before. I remember one of the attorneys asking me if I thought it was the right choice, and I told them, ‘It will be once we’re good at it.’
Now that we’ve implemented it, Agile has been a big time-saver. The questionnaires are easy to use, and the documents come out looking great. The formatting and paragraph numbering make printing for signings a breeze, and I don’t have to worry about pagination issues. For simpler estate plans, it’s made our process so much faster and more reliable. For more complex clients, our old way of doing things sometimes still feels easier to me—but I don’t want to let fear of change hold us back. Agile has made things run more smoothly, and I know it’s the right move for our firm.

My business is part tax firm and part law firm. On the tax side, I specialize in trust and estate taxation—both fiduciary income tax and the Oregon estate tax return—along with enough individual returns to be really busy at tax time. My law practice consists of estate planning and a small amount of taxpayer representation. I’m admitted to the U.S. Tax Court as well as Oregon.
Before using Agile EP, I detested drafting estate planning documents so much that I would put it off and end up over-stressed. I was using a national, template-based product designed for higher-net-worth individuals than most of my Oregon clients. It was robust, but it took me a long time to draft documents because I had to constantly revisit issues that don’t affect most of my clients. In Oregon, we need estate tax planning at a much lower level of wealth than in much of the country, and that affects the ideal choices. The other software just wasn’t built for that. I also didn’t enjoy looking at it.
I chose Agile EP because I like the interface, and I like that it’s tailored to Oregon and Washington clients. It also matters to me that people in the Oregon Bar know the founders and speak highly of them. And I like that the support team is in my time zone.
I’m still learning my way around, but it’s getting easier. I’m a solo attorney with a part-time office assistant who mostly helps tax clients. I’m in my 60s and hope to retire from my law practice at some point—though tax practitioners in this state are in such demand, I can’t imagine ever retiring completely. So I appreciate the flexibility of a monthly subscription. If I hire an additional attorney to assist with drafting, I won’t have to commit to another full-year subscription for them.
The client questionnaire is easy to set up and send to new clients. I usually send it after I’ve spoken with them because I don’t always want them to spend time filling in asset details yet. I often tell them to skip those parts. But it’s a good way for them to double-check the names and contact information I’ve entered.
Honestly, I enjoy working on estate plans now—maybe not as much as tax, but enough to keep doing it for a while. The look and feel of the product really matter, and Agile EP gets that right. I also think the client-facing educational materials are well done, and I’m proud to present them to clients. I haven’t always felt that way about other ‘canned’ materials.

As an estate planner working with young families, I needed a drafting platform that was Washington-specific and easy to use. The platform I had before wasn’t localized, and it generated overly complex, massive documents that just didn’t fit my typical client base. I was looking for a solution that would work for 95% of my clients without unnecessary complications—and that’s when I found Agile Estate Planning.
Agile Estate Planning is exactly what I needed. The documents are in plain language, making them much more client-friendly, and the software itself is simple to use. Now, after meeting with my clients and discussing their options, I use Agile Estate Planning to generate drafts that I can download and customize based on any unique details we’ve covered. The process is smooth and efficient.
The impact has been huge. My clients are much happier with the output, and I rarely get the ‘Why is this so long?’ feedback I used to hear. More importantly, conversations about the documents go much more smoothly because clients actually understand the language.
What I appreciate most about Agile Estate Planning is its focus on simplicity. Some platforms try to account for every possible scenario with endless options, but I prefer a tool that efficiently handles 95% of the drafting process, allowing me to fine-tune the rest. Agile Estate Planning strikes that balance perfectly, and I highly recommend it to estate planners looking for a practical, client-friendly solution.
